ABOUT US

1st Generation Family-Owned Business

Goldenwood Acres is a new farm owned and managed by husband Daniel Kneblewski and wife Rachelle Green.

Daniel and Rachelle have always been aware of the natural environment around them and have been passionate about farming and self sustainability since childhood.

Daniel grew up on 50 acres on his Father's property in northern Orillia. Daniel learned how to garden, work with animals, and forestry management. Rachelle has been working with animals and gardening on her Aunt's hobby farm since childhood. Her undisguisable love and care for animals is a humbling example for all.

Present-day Daniel is a Civil Engineer with a strong passion for his family and the farm. Rachelle is an avid Environmental Technologist in the Renewable Energy sector and mother of many at home.

ABOUT GOLDENWOOD ACRES

Rachelle and Daniel have always been planning on buying a farm. When it seemed unfeasible to purchase a large property, Daniel and Rachelle decide not to "dream" anymore but to "live" their dreams. In 2018, their Oakville backyard was transformed into a miniature urban farm. With 3 chickens, 5 beehives, and a large vegetable garden they reached the maximum capacity of their space. In September 2020, Daniel and Rachelle were finally able to purchase 26 acres in Waterdown with more practical experience under their belt.

The farm needed lots of love and attention. Within the first few months, the land provided plentiful dead ash trees which were processed into firewood and their first product. Over 20 Chickens, 3500 square foot gardens, and 15 beehives were then established within the first 6 months.
