About the event
If you have taken Class 1 or at least ready to start beekeeping this year, then this is the class for you! Without proper guidance, you risk losing your bees and the chance of harvesting any honey; ultimately wasting time and money.
I will share and teach you how to manage and keep your bees through the first day your bees arrive through the spring season. This local and custom program is based on the Ontario Beekeeping Manual, experiences gained from master beekeepers and breeders, and my 7 years of experience. In this 2 hour class I goes over the following:
Pre-spring prep: Ordering nucs/queens, getting your beekeeper ID registration, equipment must-haves
Where to locate your hive(s) on the homestead
How to perform inspections with tips and tricks
Planning for nectar flow and how to grow your hive to increase your fall honey yields
