Welcome to Goldenwood Acres, a family-run 26-acre hobby farm in Waterdown, Ontario, Canada. By booking a beekeeping class, private hive tour, Sniffspot visit, or purchasing any products from us (in person or online), you agree to the following terms.
1. Beekeeping Classes & Private Hive Tours
- All participants must be at least 10 years old (children 10–15 must be accompanied by a paying adult).
- Full protective suits are provided. You must wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. We reserve the right to refuse participation if proper attire is not worn.
- Classes and tours take place indoors and outdoors and are weather-dependent. We will reschedule or refund in full if we cancel due to unsafe weather or bee conditions.
- No-shows or cancellations with less than 48 hours notice are non-refundable. Cancellations with 48+ hours notice may be rescheduled or refunded minus a $15 administration fee.
- Bees can sting. While we take every safety precaution, participation is at your own risk. You agree to release Goldenwood Acres and its owners from liability for stings, allergic reactions, or minor injuries that may occur during the activity.
2. Sniffspot Private Dog Park Bookings
- All bookings are made through Sniffspot.com and are also subject to Sniffspot’s own terms.
- Owners are 100 % responsible for their dogs’ behaviour and any damage or injury caused to people, animals, or property.
- You must pick up all dog waste and dispose of it in the provided bins.
- No-shows or late cancellations follow Sniffspot’s cancellation policy.
3. Purchase of Honey, Comb Honey, Beeswax Products & Farm Eggs
- All food products are produced in a non-inspected home kitchen and are sold as “farm-gate” products under Ontario’s farm-gate sales exemption.
- We guarantee our honey is 100 % pure and raw. No refunds are offered for taste preference, but we will replace or refund any item that arrives damaged or spoiled.
- Eggs are sold ungraded and unrefrigerated; refrigerate immediately after purchase.
4. Photography & Media - We sometimes take photos or videos during classes and tours for use on our website and social media. By attending, you grant us permission to use images of you (or your children) unless you notify us in writing beforehand that you opt out.
5. Liability Waiver - You acknowledge that beekeeping, interacting with live animals, and visiting a working farm carry inherent risks. Goldenwood Acres, its owners, and staff are not liable for injury, loss, or damage arising from your visit or participation.
6. Changes to Terms - We may update these Terms & Conditions at any time. The current version will always be posted on this page with the “Last updated” date.
